SOLD Antique Chinese fine and extremely ornate carved altar cabinet with mother of pearl inlay, pierced carved with dragons in swirling clouds, center panel with family of three fu-dogs, claw feet, mother of pearl scenes of figures, flowers and buddhist symbols, bone carved details, sides carved with flowers in vases, hardwood, 18th/ 19th century.

SOLD Antique Chinese Peking glass snuff bottle. Made of black glass overlaid on a pink glass ground. It is carved with a man on a horse on one side and the other with a scholar's attendant walking with a large blossoming branch slung over his shoulder. Large flowering branches sprout from the ground on either side. The lid is made of rose quartz and the spoon is bone.

SOLD Antique Chinese carved cinnabar lacquer screen, 4 panels in a deep red color with wooden frame. Intricately carved with 16 separate and unique reserves depicting detailed scenes of court figures and animals in a garden pavilion setting. The area around the reserves is carved with a geometric design of flowers. Ching dynasty 19th century.

$8,800.00 Antique Chinese branch coral carving of a beautiful maiden. She stands holding a vase with peonies. Her hair is pulled up into a high bun on which is perched a bird. Her robes flow around her and she stands on a rocky out cropping. The coral is perfectly balanced on an ornately carved hardwood base.

SOLD Antique Chinese hardwood ruyi scepter, naturalistically carved in the gnarled form of a lingzhi mushroom. A ruyi (meaning "as desired" or "as you wish" in Chinese) is a symbol of power and good fortune. Larger ruyi were held by nobility as scepters, smaller ruyi acted as a talisman. Because of it's many medicinal uses and it's power to balance one's qi (life force), lingzhi fungus is often seen in Chinese art as a symbol of health and longevity.

SOLD Chinese carved cabinet made all of beautiful hongmu hardwood, front is carved with four scenes of immortals and children with birds and animals in mountain pavilion setting, interior has a shelf with two drawers, the inside of each of the cabinet doors is also beautifully carved, brass hardware on inside and out, circa 1900.

$2,000.00 Antique Chinese jade amulet of a figure riding a fu-lion. Carved in relief with a background of swirling clouds. The figure appears to be a nobleman or scholar due to his hat and ruyi scepter but is possibly a Taoist deity. The stone is pierced near the top for the attachment of a cord. A striking orange color with red striations, it is beautifully worn and polished with age. Provenance: from a prominent Los Angeles estate.

$3,500.00 Antique Chinese carved jade snuff bottle. An even pale green jade carved with peaches on one side and four characters on the other. The jade is an even tone accented by two slightly diagonal striations running through. The lid is a mottled yellow glass and bronze with a bronze spoon.
