Thin colors and wavering ink form landscapes and poetry on this small dimpled bottle vase by Shigemori Yoko enclosed in a signed wooden box titled simply Kakubin (Square bottle). It is roughly 8.5 x 8.5 x 12 cm (3-1/2 x 3-1/2 x 5 inches) and is in excellent condition, enclosed in a wooden box annotated by her nephew.

Traditional folk Korean patchwork hemp textile made from various scrap fabrics called Bojagi (Pojagi), mid 20th century, approx. 106 x 105cm (41.73 x 41.33in), embodies the lifestyle and the story of the people who take good care of their possessions at that time. Relatively thicker type. Some expected slight frays, discoloring, and small holes due to aging, but in beautiful vintage condition as is as seen.

A Han style (maybe of the period) white jade cicada in simple design and carved with clean lines showing superior craftsmanship. We date it Qing Dynasty or earlier, but it was probably from Han Dynasty. Condition: there are some calcification on the tip of the wings, which caused some tiny chips; some age veins on the lower part of the cicada (please see photo #4 and #5 for details). Takegawa Chikusai was responsible for putting Banko Yaki, and the Banko-gama kiln (established 1829) and its home of Yokkaichi City in Mie-ken back on its feet and on the map.
