An unusual bone handle dagger decorated with a turquoise stone and silver a copper fittings. The sheath is made of silver with a woven silver chain attached to the knife. There is piece of "stingray skin" wrapped around the middle. There is one turquoise stone decorating the sheath with two red (resin) stones that originally were red coral.The blade is made of steel. A nice Tibetan 108 bone prayer beads with two leather counters from Lhasa. The bone is most likely yak bone. It has two turquoise spacers and silver counter. Acquired in Lhasa, Tibet over 15 years ago. Size: 40cm X 2.

Beautiful Tibetan painting depicting white Tara and four other bodhisatvas, originally this was a book cover for a sacred text, painted in mineral colors on canvas and mounted like a thangka. 18th century. Total size: 15 1/4" high x 30" long. Size of painting only: 6 1/2" high x 26 1/4" long.

Nine prong bronze bell and matching nine prong bronze vajra (diamond / thunderbolt) with carrying case of patchwork cloth. Used together for spiritual ceremonies. Beautifully rendered design with ritual wear. Bell has dorje design on outer rim, with lotus design on inner bell and a bronze clapper. Nice ringing note when sounded.

Vajradhara or Dorje Chang in Tibetan is the ultimate primordial Buddha or Adi Buddha according to the Gelug and Kagyu schools of Tibetan Buddhism. This fine example is from Tibet or possibly from Nepal. It is well proportioned and has very nice facial features. Please note the fine engraving on the back of the figure. Tibetan thangka painting in reverence to the bodhisattva Avalokitesvara. When he is shown having four arms, he is called Chaturbhuja Avalokitesvara. This is his most commonly depicted form. This small elaborate Buddhist monk's medicine bottle is sewn into a larger pouch of burgundy homespun wool fabric with yellow/gold silk lining. When worn, the stopper would be securely held in the bottle by a system of handmade cords and bands. The medicine bottle would be worn outside the robes and suspended on the Monk's belt. These were used for both travel and ceremonies.

Tibetan Himalayan Buddhist Copper and Brass Prayer Wheel, with Bamboo handle supported by round Shell Disc, 17" high, 3 1/4" wide, Paper Scrip is inside the drum, copper cap wrapped around the tip of Bamboo handle at the end of the handle, the condition is good. This piece was in the private collection since 1990, purchased in Lhasa during their trip.

This is a relatively modern Buddhist painting, done entirely by hand, depicting Lhamo, a Buddhist protector deity. Exceptionally well painted, as the photos will show, this painting was most probably done in Nepal. The painting itself, excluding the cloth "mount," measures 16" X 21". Given the quality of the painting, my sense is that even though relatively modern, the piece was in fact intended for devotional purposes and not as an item of trade. Burl wood and silver bowl, used for Tsampa, the traditional Tibetan porridge, and for buttered tea. The silver lining plain, the exterior with chased and delicately engraved decoration of flowers. Tibetan silver normally lacks hallmarks and this bowl tested for a silver content of 925 /1000. Probably antique, late 19th or early 20th century. Diameter "4 ½ / 11 cm, height "2 ¼ / 5.7 cm. Condition: fine.

Tibetan yak butter tea “po cha” or barley beer “chang” bowl carved from burlwood, possibly Rhododendron circa 50 to 100 years old. D:11.8cm/4.6in and H: 5cm/1.9in, there is one worn chip on the edge. A charming old piece- difficult to find these days. This was not turned on a lathe, but entirely carved by hand.
