The raised carving is approximately 3/4" in height. The design is of a coiled dragon, as shown in the photos. Evident signs of alteration/calcification in the stone. This item was possibly made as an object for the Scholar's table and was made in China in the Qing dynasty, probably during the second half of the 19th Century (circa 1850-1900).

The bases carry the four character reign mark of the Kangxi emperor but these items were made later, probably for export, during the late Qing or early Republic period, circa 1880-1920.
