Sold This is a beautiful Japanese Cloisonne Enamel tray from Namikawa Sosuke. The tray looks perfect but it has does have a very difficult to see professional restoration to the face. This would be a great addition for a Museum or fine collection because it displays so well. This is a top flight piece for less than a third normal price. The tray measures 11 3/4 inches across and it is heavy.

Chinese Ming dynasty (1368-1644) ritual dragon bell covered overall with a fine celadon glaze that extends down and stops neatly at the unglazed scalloped edge. The unglazed tips are burnt orange-brown from firing. Fine incised details are visible in the body behind the glaze. A double-dragon handle is at the top. The interior is fully glazed. £195.00 An Early Japanese Bronze Mirror, Kagami, Circa 1600. (No.1)
This bronze mirror (kagami) was almost certainly made in the Momoyama period. It has a turtle (minogame) as a central boss, pierced for a cord. It also features a pair of cranes, their beaks touching the head of the turtle as in the act of kissing. This beneath a splendid pine tree. Under the turtle is found the inscription 'Tenjō' (?) possibly meaning Heaven.
Approximately 10.4cm diameter. Many signs of wear and polishi... This is a finely carved 19th century Japanese Netsuke depicting Fukurokuju, one of the Seven Gods of Fortune, the God of Wealth and Longevity, holding a staff on his left hand, and placing his right hand on top a seated Karako's head. This carving is not signed, but, it is attributed to Masatoshi, because of the similarity of subject, and carving style to another netsuke that is listed on this webpage as item #60.
Netsuke measures 1.50 inches (3.8cm) wide, and 2.08 inches (5.3cm) tall.

This is finely carved, Late 19th century, Japanese Netsuke depicting a jovial looking Entertainer who is making music with a Hand Drum that he is holding in his hands, and Fan looking instrument that he is working with his feet. Excellent form and detail on this piece. It is signed Yoshiyuki in a rectangular reserve posted over the man's rear end.
Netsuke measures 1.28 inches (3.3cm) wide, and 2.10 inches (5.3cm) tall.

sold Here we present a real fine example of Korean art: smaller rounded wan-shaped bowl with high foot of the bamboo node style - the dark, fine clay with some enclosures is expertly thrown. The chawan was decorated with a white engobe in brushstrokes with a straw brush (hakeme) before the whole bowl was covered with an ash glaze. No chips or cracks. Great antique condition. Hakeme bowls belong to the Mishima (Buncheon) group of Korean ceramics popular in the early Choseon period 14th - 16...
