Sold to China - September 2011 售至中国 - 2011年9月 A crisply moulded white porcelain "Blanc de Chine" wine cup. The shape is made in imitation of contemporary rhinoceros horn libation cups. This item was made in the Dehua kilns Fujian province, circa 1640 - 1700, during the very late Ming or early Qing dynasty. Condition - excellent - no damages and no restoration. 6.9cm (3.7inches) high; 12.3cm (4.8 inches) long; 9cm (3.5 inches) wide.

Price on Request This is a very elegant and high quality Japanese silk obi from Nishijin, Kyoto. The dimensions of the obi are 12 1/4" wide and 160 3/4" (13'4 3/4") long. About two-thirds of the front (104" long) is woven with gold. There are 2 full designs of an ox-cart with pine branches in the center area – only one of them is shown in the first photo – the other one is on the other side.
Silk textiles, particularly when they are woven with gold, can look very different in depending on the envi... Japanese cotton obi from mid to late Showa period, 1980s(?). This obi was sold from the Mitsukoshi Department Store (2 logos attached at the corner). 100 percent cotton, new condition with some color loss. 12 1/4" wide x 141" long; it weighs approx. 1.2 pounds.

Sold to China - December 2011 售至中国 - 2011 年12月 A very finely carved hardwood ox or buffalo, surmounted by a young boy, on original stand, probably made for export during the second half of the 19th Century circa 1850-1900 . Condition - excellent - one glass eye of the boy is missing but, unusually, there is no damage at all to the sculpture and there has been no restoration. The Ox - 30cm (11.8 inches) long; 15.5cm (6 inches)high. The stand 36.5cm (14.4 inches)long;19cm (7.5 inches) wide;4.5cm (1.75 inches)high.

This item was made in China, circa 1966-1976, during the Cultural Revolution period. Condition - the tambourine has been broken - no further damage or restoration. 18.5cm (7.25 inches) high.

Sold to China - September 2011 售至中国 - 2011年9月 A large, extremely finely carved, hardwood ox or buffalo, surmounted by a young boy, on original openwork stand, probably made for export during the second half of the 19th Century circa 1850-1900. Condition - very good - both horns and the leading foot have been well repaired and the wood appears to have been "patched" and "joined" before carving. 24cm (9.5 inches high); 33cm (13 inches) long on stand.

Sold to Germany - August 2011 An early 18th Century "Chinese Imari" Tea Caddy or Cannister made in Jingdezhen, southern China, for export to Europe during the reign of the Yongzheng emperor (1723-1736). Condition - there is no cover, there are small chips / frits to the base and there are chips to the shoulder; no cracks and no restoration. 9cm (3.5 inches) high.

Sold to UK - September 2011 售至英国 - 2011年9月 A 16th or early 17th Century Ming dynasty bronze sculpture of a boy riding an Ox or Water Buffalo. This item was possibly made during the reign of the Wanli emperor (1573-1619). Condition - very good - no damages and no repairs. Please note - this item is heavy for its size (550gms / 20oz) and requires a solid horizontal surface to balance upright. 10cm (4 inches) high; 11.5cm (4.5 inches) long.
