This finely detailed Chinese porcelain plate would make a fine addition to any Rose Mandarin or Rose Medallion collection. It is unusual in that the central medallion features a group of scholars. The rough and somewhat gritty bottom of the plate without any factory markings suggest a factory production circa 1850-1891. Description: A pair of porcelain whistling dolls were in creamy white slip and were sketched with black paint. Except one broken ankle on the left foot of the bigger one and was glued back, then two of them in very good condition. They whistled well even after 800 years. Height: 5.8cm, 5.0cm.
