A Padang Highlands gilt brass kettle with false lid and a lidded box standing on three legs, both cast with the lost wax method showing floral and geometric motifs. Condition: both lids with few tiny casting holes, the box interior with some rust, both items with traces of usage. Dimension: kettle: c. 21.5 cm high, c. 15 cm long, box: c. 13.8 cm high, diameter: c. 13 cm, weight together: 1400 g.

The figure is is stood samabhanga and is remarkable for its realistic yet delicate delineation of the limbs and the robe which seems to cling to the body.

The garment (sanghati) covers both shoulders. The right hand is held out in the vitarka mudra of teaching. The lowered left hand grants boons in the varada mudra...

Fine cowrie shell necklace from northwest Burma, probably Naga on a hand woven macramé cotton cord. This is an old set, circa 80 years with an excellent worn natural patina and almost porcelain like surface these need to be handled to be appreciated. Antique Nepalese bronze bodhisatva seated on a double lotus throne. The piece has the original copper base with stamped design. The robes of the figure are skillfully incised with a beautiful cloud and scrolling vine design. The hands are in muddra as they hold a small container. Some old loses. It measures 8" tall 5 " wide 3" deep. 19th century, obtained in the 1960s in Katmandu .

Nepalese bronze pedestaled bowls from 18th-19th century. One bowl has a lotus blossom on the bottom of the bowl. The second bowl is decorated with a band of blooming flowers along the base. Deaccessioned from the Handley Private Collection. Measures 4" 5/8" tall, 4.25" at widest.

A Nepalese hand-carved wooden phurba, a Buddhist shamanic dagger used as a religious implement. It has four faces carved at the top with a bird carved into its blade. The wood has a smoothed patina and natural wear from ritualistic use.

Antique Burmese pair of wooden Buddhist figures kneeling in prayer/meditation. Red and gilt lacquer has been applied to both and each has inlaid mirrors along the edges of their robes. The smaller figure has glass inlaid eyes. Size: (smaller) 10" height (larger) 10.5" height

Antique pair of Thai male attendants (Nats), finely rendered out of teak wood, with polychrome traces of pigments. These funerary effigies would be kept close to an ancestral altar in order to help lead their spirits into the afterlife. Highly realistic detailing and form, this pair of statues are raised on pedestals for sturdy display.
