Burmese repousse silver covered vessel. Compressed bulbous form having an intricately hammered ground of interiors featuring pronounced narrative characters set between two bands of chased acanthus. An ornate silver betel box with open-work patterns of curling tendrils. The body and lid each have five panels with high relief work depicting 10 different scenes of ancient Burma. The top of the domed lid has a lotus blossom. The bottom is hammered with the date and occasion for the piece.

Burmese lacquered harp, or Saung, the body carved with gilt floral motifs and inlaid glass. The tip of the curved neck ends in a stylized gilt leaf with inlaid glass. The 14-stringed instrument sits displayed on a carved wood stand with temple guardians and lotuses.

Refined Bronze Shan State Buddha, Burma. The bottom of this statue had uncut rubies and British/Burmese silver coins hidden in it's base. Back side/base shows some cracks, otherwise good condition, size: H. 16cm x W. 7cm x D. 4.5cm

A standing bronze Burmese Buddha on a pedestal in the "Varada mudra" position. Size: H. 15.2cm. Base width. 6.3cm. Condition: No repairs. Some separation on the pedestal spokes.

Tall standing Buddha carved of wood and worn from the elements. He stands in Mahakaruna Mudra, with his right arm extending from his hip and his left hand covering his heart in the gesture that symbolizes great compassion. His face is kind with a slight smile and he radiates a peaceful acceptance. Traces of black pigment. With custom iron stand.

Burmese Shan State religious text, 14 leaves made of lacquered and silver leaf on cloth, front and back covers are carved of wood and lacquered red with gold on the inside, raised lacquer polyscript with notes on paper in the margins, 19th century or older. Rare cream colored glazed Myanmar bowl with incised lotus and flared rim design circa 13th/14th CE, found at the Tak Hilltop Burial Site along the border of Burma and Thailand. I bought this about 20 years ago, now you cannot find these anymore. There are 3 repairs on the rim. Of these white wares from Burma, I have only seen one unrestored piece. D: 17.7cm/7in and H: 7.5cm/2.9in.

Woman's Blanket from the Chin, Mizo people of Assam or Western Burma. This type of “prestige cloth” would be worn only by women on ceremonial occasions. Some stains, splits at the ends but exceptionally rare and very fine weaving incorporating several techniques. Silk warp cotton weft. Approximately circa 50- 80 years old.
