Women’s skirt from the Bahnar (Ba Na) ethnic group from the Central Highlands of Vietnam, woven from fine handspun cotton using all natural dyes. The weaving is very intricate and refined, note the use of narrow warp ikat bands throughout this piece. This is one single panel which would have used to make three other skirts. See last enlargement for a complete example. L: 2.9meter/9.5feet and W: 66cm/26in. I have two complete skirts- please contact if interested.

Large Thai Sawankhalok round form covered stoneware box in the shape of a mangosteen fruit decorated in iron-black/brown glaze on a buff-colored ground with a zig-zag pattern on the lid and stylized scrolling vines on the bottom. Stem finial. 14th to 16th century. 4 3/4” diameter x 4” high. Very good overall condition. There is a tiny pinhead-sized flea bite on the bottom section at the edge of the rim (see image). The lid matches well and appears to be original...

Motifs of filigree are seen through the silver plating with a pair of diving swallows. The backside of the pouch with heavy studs. Motifs of filigree and flora are seen through the silver plating. The leather purse is made to hold a flint piece and some burnable material. The flint is struck against the iron blade, making a spark which is caught in the material. The top is fitted with brass hardware for hanging from a leather strap...
