A brass wash pan that was used for personal grooming during the late Joseon Dynasty. The bowl has been formed by the process known as wrought, where the metal is worked into shape by beating it with a hammer. The hammering marks on this pan are clearly visible. The pan measures 4 3/4" high x 16 3/4" in diameter, and dates to the early 20th Century. It is good example of folk ware and metal art. The condition is very good, with some stains and corrosion that could be polished out...

A large Korean brass bowl that was used for mixing and preparing food in the kitchen during the late Joseon Dynasty. The bowl has been shaped and formed by pounding the brass(wrought).
