Vintage korean black lacquer tobacco box with inlaid mother of pearl. The lid of the box has a beautiful design of birds on a peony branch. The interior has a lid for to cover the tobacco or incense compartment with an inlaid design of an incense burner. There is a compartment for a lighter and a bronze ash tray. It measures 2.5" tall 12" wide 7.5" deep.

Blue-glazed porcelain carp fish, a Korean scholar’s water dropper. The carp was regarded as a symbol of endurance and never-ceasing ambition - a good example for a calligrapher. The two small holes let out the drops of water needed to make fluent ink out of the hard and dry inkstone surface. Joseon dynasty, probably late 19th century. Width "3/ 7.5 cm, height "1/ 2.7 cm. Condition: fine.

A Korean pale grey porcelain offering stand. 19th century. Each stand is fired resting on another and so kiln grit, used to prevent adhesion, is left as evidence.

A Korean whitish brass incense burner with cover that was used during family Confucian ceremonies. The lid is cut with the eight diagrams which will give the owner protection from misfortune and assure prosperity and happiness. The burner measure about 7 1/2" high x 4 3/4" in diameter, and dates to the early 20th Century Condition: The Condition is excellent. As was the custom the burner has been polished, and it shows some evidence of use and wear. Free shipping within the USA.

A pair of coral ground tea bowls, c 1900. Enamelled decoration in blue and green with black transfer printed contours. Since the use of printed decorations started earlier in Japan (in the 19th century) than in China it is probable that these bowls are Japanese. One bowl with illegible export (?) mark in red. Good Joseon Dynasty, 19th century stoneware cup/bowl with high footrim and pale greenish gray glaze and gray stoneware , this is a simple regional folk ware but has a pleasing almost celadon feel to it that needs to be held to be appreciated. There is some kiln grit in the cavetto as well as three minor hairline stress cracks. H: 8.7cm/3.5in and D: 13.1cm//5.2in.
