An extraordinary, wooden figure of a tiger with a very long tail, sitting on a rockwork. It has an almost humanized facial expression and the mouth corners are showing small canines. It is painted with green and different brown pigments. Dating to the Joseon dynasty. Condition: partially lost or agglomerated coloring, some pigment fissures, few small cracks, one fang is worn. Gorgeous Korean screen with a light yellow silk background with cream designs of flowers and stems, with eight panels depicting a group of hunters on horseback, carrying spears, swords, and trumpets and hunting boar, wildcats, and pheasants. Korean antique Buddhist Sutra text with cylindrical reliquary, the reliquary is made of gilt copper repouse with a figure incised on one side, the contents of the cylinder has been laid out flat for display in a plexiglas stand, one side is a flat rectangular gilt metal section with raised characters of buddhist text and praying figure on the left, the other side of the display has a similar rectangular section of raised Buddhist text and two figures on silver, dates to about 11th to 13th ...

Large Korean wooden statue of the Amida Buddha or Amitābha, also known as "The Buddha of Infinite Light." He was covered in an oyster shell pigment in order to smooth out the woodgrain, a red lacquer was applied over it, and finally a gold leaf topcoat was applied. He is typically shown in a standing position and is oddly portrayed seated in this statue. 19th century Size: 36" height, 23.5" width, 19.5" depth

Early 20th Century Large Black-Lacquered Mother-of-Pearl Box, in fair condition with much loss of the mother-of-pearl. The brass hardware is old but is not original. 31.5 x 18.5 x 16.5 inches, 80 x 47 x 42 cm.

Korean Joseon dynasty (1392-1910) painted portrait of a seated scholar official executed in ink and color on paper. At the center of the robe is a rank badge holding a crane, indicating the gentleman is a civil official. The calligraphy states the bearded official is 41 years old. Embroidered in multicolored silks on blue figured silk with two cranes flying with a stalk of sacred fungus amidst clouds, above a taihu rock and waves. Bordered with gold wrapped thread. Glued on cardboard and mounted in antique wooden European frames. Condition: fine, slightly faded and few loose threads. Dimension: 24.8 cm x 23.1 (with frame), badges: approx. 22.5 cm x 21 cm.

Vase or jar with globular body, standing on a short foot and with everting rim. Moon jar. Underglaze blue decoration of carp swimming in water. Signed and sealed. Bottom marked as well. Korea, late 19th or early 20th century.
