Originally part of a full sized Tibetan adult costume, this piece was cut down to complete a childs festival costume. Decorated with turquoise, coins, tassels and silver ornaments, this type of textile accessory would often be attached to the elaborate headdress or hat and drape down the back to complete the wearers costume. The Tibetan people are not wastefull and items of festival garments in any condition are hard to acquire. I have had it hanging on my wall for a number of years...

Antique Indian bronze figure of the Goddess Durga, wearing a tall crown, her face burnished from reverent touch over many years. She stands on the severed head and body of the slain buffalo demon Mahishasura. Durga is shown traditionally holding weapons of various male gods in Hindu mythology, such as a javelin, discus, and dagger. These weapons symbolize self-discipline, selfless service to others, self-examination, prayer, devotion, remembering her mantras, cheerfulness and meditation...

An antique 18th – 19th century Indo Persian Islamic shield (Dhal Separ). Made of well hand hammered solid steel of circular convex form, damascened in silver and gold koftgari with four tall pitchers and two swords amongst gold inlaid stars.

An extreme edge reinforced by an applied brass band. The center is decorated by a rosette surrounded by four domed bosses, with bolts on the back for a rope (to hold the shield)...

A copper "gau" prayer box, the lid with chased Kalachakra mantra. Inside a fine "tsakli" painting on canvas in colors and gold, depicting the deity "Green Tara", sitting on a lotus throne. The fitted tsakli is removable and with no inscription on the backside. Condition: painting little rubbed, gau interior with some verdigris.
