Lovely open work ornament with fine engraving of dragons between branches. L. 14,5 cm, H. 7,5 cm. Comes with a custom made acrylic stand. Provenance: private collection The Netherlands, bought in 1980 from Aalderink in Amsterdam, a major specialist in Asian art. The original invoice comes with this piece.
Small architectural element with a finely carved relief decor showing a couple in erotic embrace. Wood, with nice patina. Nepal, early 17th century maybe earlier. Height: 26,5 cm. The piece is nicely mounted on a custom metal stand. Erosion due to great age, otherwise very good condition.

According to legend, Padmasambava introduced the magic dagger to Tibet to subdue forces hostile to Buddhism." (Bonhams Auction Tues. June 28, 2016 page.14.) Made of iron and copper alloy.

Krishna is wearing a diadem, at the back of which is a loop suggesting that this statue was originally used as a pendant.
