A Chinese carved cinnabar lacquer vase (converted into a lamp) decorated with four shaped panels of scholars on a mountainous landscape, the background with scrolling floral borders and motifs. The quality of the carving is one of the best from its period (probably late 19th century) and is in excellent condition – some chips and minor hair lines. Very collectible ink cake of a Chinese woman in traditional Chinese attire wearing padded armor and holding the Chinese Army (1912 -1929)flag while her left hand crosses over body and rests on the sword pummel. The detailing is excellent and this is one of those items that looks better in person than in the photos. We feel comfortable with a pre-1920 dating. It measures 5.5" (14 cm) high, 4" (10.2 cm) widest, .75" (1.9 cm) deep.

A black-glazed water pot was in strong Zen spirit.
By an elegant elm bowl’s shape, the pot was applied on the surface with black slip when bluish white splashes were decorated intriguingly on top across the mouth rim.
Unglazed at the bottom, the foot ring was flat and was revealed with the body clay which was in dark brown tint.

Description: A fine bronze casting work of a sage riding on a standing deer. By dark patina, the figure and the deer were depicted in details by great craftsmanship. They were hollow cast and sealed and being reserved no casting holes. In a perfect condition, the bronze piece would be a joyful addition to your collection of Chinese bronzes. An unusual pair of hand embroidered Chinese silk pouches with auspicious symbols. The color contrast is stunning, each has its original silk tassels. These pouches also have their original drawstrings yet intact. These pouches may have been used for eyeglasses and /or general use. In excellent condition with only minimal fading, which is remarkable considering their age, the pouches measure 6" (15.2 cm) long. The tassels measure 5" (12.7 cm).

A scholars favorite, this small pouch was used most likely for general purpose items, but I suspect it was actually used for cricket accessories, due the subject matter of a cricket at play, and the double gourd shape of the pouch. On the opposite side is an auspicious butterfly, the entire presentation is unique and charming. This scholars delight dates to the late 19th century. In excellent shape,it measures 4.75 inches or 12.1 cm long.

A very unusual stretch bracelet with old ivory of a hand and club,Ming glass beads,striped Tang beads and a old bronze ball. The bracelet is strung with a stretch material to fit all sizes. A nice piece of Chinese antiques to wear.

This antique Chinese Minority silver necklace depicts a boy riding a large Kylint. The medallion measures 3.5" wide x 2.5" high, including and the bells measures 5" high. Excellent detailing.

A unique piece of zitan wood used as a sample for the scholar's woodworker. This piece is unusual as it shows a very light color of the zitan wood which is probably close to the bark area. A pottery jar glazed with a green lead glaze. Half of it is still green while the other half has oxidized to a silvery iridescent color. The variance in color is due to how the piece was buried and the effect of moisture getting under the surface of the glaze and "lifting" it to give it the pearl-like sheen.
