This is a very rare and highly desirable Changsha kiln 9th century Tang Dynasty bird figurine. Usually these are characterized by such components such as under-glazed yelow-brownish and green motifs with molded design in relief, appliqué designs or impressed designs in relief and also incised or carved designs. The unique feature of the figurine is the olive/brown glaze that is more like yue ware, but the paste and glaze is actually one of the rarest Changsha kiln products that exist...
