Chinese Qing dynasty rectangular form hardwood display stand with inset top, short waist with fine applied carved decorative elements, and apron carved with a horned monster head at the center. The four elephant-head form cabriole legs are attached by the curling trunk to a humpback stretcher raised on short tab feet. Chinese late Qing dynasty sang-de-boeuf (oxblood) flambé glazed cylindrical form censer. The oxblood glaze drips inside at the rim above the thick off-white glaze lining the interior. The censer rests upon vestiges of three small tripod legs. The base is unglazed and has burnt orange. As is typical of late 19th century examples, the base shows evidence where the glaze ran off the base and was broken off the kiln supports. 7 3/8” diameter x 5 1/2” high. Very Rare Large Chinese Neolithic Xindian Culture Jar with Zoomorphic Patterns with Oxford TL Test

This large and extremely rare pottery jar was made by peoples of the Neolithic Xindian culture (c. 1200 - 500 BC). The Xindian culture is a relatively late Neolithic culture and overlaps with the Chinese Bronze Age. This jar is of the Tangwang type and is not quite as coarse in its construction as some other Xindian vessels...
