Sold. A splendid Chinese export silver circular egg cruet fitted with four egg cups and four spoons each decorated with bamboo. The cruet standing on 3 ball feet, the cups and spoons with gilt bowls. The cruet and cups with maker's mark "TC" standing for Tuck Chang who was active between the late 19th century and early 20th century in Shanghai. Condition: few traces of usage, few wear to gilding. Dimension: total height: 19 cm, cups: 7.4 cm high, spoons: 10 cm long, total weight: 386 g.

Sold A quite large Chinese silk purse with outstanding embroidery. One side showing a deer looking at a crane on a pine, on the left four Chinese characters. The other side with a flock of swallows near a flowering tree. Edged with a black and white woven band and a silvery rim, the silk tassels having gold and silver wrapped threads. Silk lining. Condition: faded, small stains, little wear to rim. Dimension: purse: c. 17 cm x 15.5 cm, tassels: c. 18.5 cm long.

This round stoneware jar was made in the 10th Century, either during the Five Dynasties period (AD 906 - 960) or during the early part of the Song Dynasty (AD 960 - 1279). The wall is decorated with an incised repeating petal design. It is coated in a pale greenish glaze that is very finely-crackled and that falls of short of the base revealing the pale grey body. A Rare Han Dynasty large oval glass bead in shades of very pale blue to dark sky blue. Most of the front side of the bead has developed an intriguing beige patina. There are bi-toned (dark green & light blue) curvey line designs which are imbedded in the glass surface. The light blue line is now iridescent with age. The bead has two holes in the center for stringing.

It is from the Hunan culture which was absorbed by the Han as their control spread over the whole of China.
