We offer today a wonderful Chinese Longquan Celadon Porcelain Guanyin (Kwan Yin) dating from the Ming Dynasty. This Guan Yin has been acquired from the world famous collector of Chinese ceramics, Dr. Nearing and his Dragon's Lair Collection some years ago.

The Buddha is sitting in the double lotus position. The right hand is in the Karana mudra position, which expels negative energy or wards off evil.

It is about 10 1/4 inches tall.

A very lovely natural green Burmese jadite necklace, all stones were selected to match, none were dyed. The clasp is marked 'silver' and by the art deco design of it we date the piece to the 1920 - 1930's. The necklace measures 24" and consists of three strands. This is a nice weighty but very comfortable necklace, highly stylish and elegant, a real crowd pleaser.

Song Dynasty Qingbai covered box with floral pattern on lid and lobed sides to lid and base. Light blue overall with more pronounced blue in recessed areas on lid & base. Interior is partially glazed revealing white ware towards rim on lid and base. Note, chipping to base rim with a small hairline on inside of base eminating from chip, not apparent on outside. A porcelain figure of Guanyin (the Chinese "Goddess of Mercy") seated on a lotus 'throne' attractively painted with bright famille rose / fencai enamels. This item was made in south China during the reign of the Jiaqing Emperor (1796-1820). Condition: there has been much damage and old professional restoration. 23.5cm (9.25inches) high.
