GBP £550 Chinese Ming Dynasty Glazed Horse & Rider
This impressive and detailed pottery model of a horse and rider was made during the Ming Dynasty (AD 1368 - 1644). It has been coated in green, amber and black glazes. The rider's head has been made separately and has been "cold-painted" in black and white pigments: the head fits into a slot in the neck of the rider. Note the detail to the rider's clothing, the various fittings and especially the horse's mane... Chinese late Qing to early Republic period lady’s robe embroidered in polychrome silk and gold couched thread on a black silk ground. Eight gilt dragon and phoenix bird roundels are on the front, back, and shoulders. The bottom of the robe is gilt decorated in the traditional pattern of waves, stylized mountains, and diagonal bands of upright water (li shui) permeated with auspicious symbols. Black silk decorative borders accent the front opening, side slits, and neck...

$550.00 Antique Chinese bronze incense burner censer in the form of the Buddhist Guardian Lion - Foo Dog, Qing Dynasty (1644 -1912 AD).
The lion is seated with the left paw raised on a brocade ball, and its scrolling tail flicks upwards. Well cast in bronze and hand finished with fine details, the body is applied with swirling locks of hair and smaller curls... A pair silver goblets with floral decoration, in its original silk box with glass front and handle. Foot marked with Chinese characters. Condition: silk faded, maybe top of the box's front missing, back of box with scribbling. Dimension goblet: c. 9.3 cm high, weight together: 73 g, box: c. 15.3 x 13.3 x 5.3 cm.
Chinese Qing dynasty Shiwan stoneware bombe form tripod censer with two raised loop handles on the rim covered overall with an iridescent monochrome flambe brown glaze imitating bronze. The glaze drips over the rim into the unglazed interior. Custom wood stand.
Late 19th to early 20th century. 8 3/4" diameter x 5 3/4" high (to top of handle). Very good overall condition. The censer sits at a slight angle indicating the placement of one tripod leg might be slightly off...

A border extends around the short, white glazed upright neck. The interior is fully glazed. 19th century. 12” high. Weighs 8 lbs. Very good overall condition. From the collection of a former American expatriate to China from 1983-1987.

$550.00 Cast bronze vase decorated with three handles in the form of masks of mythological creatures, carrying a trunk and large ears probably inspired by an elephant. The cast work is beautiful and the finish is neat. On the lower and upper edges, two very elegant Greek friezes are discreetly and finely incised in silver. The edge of the vase is slightly split, but you can still put water in it. A nice original patina confirms the age of the object, probably 19th century or earlier...

The bowl measures about 5 1/2" high x 9 3/4" in diameter and dates to the Ching Dynasty. The condition is very good with some interior kiln flaw and glaze crawl. The asking price includes shipping within the USA.

$550.00 Greenish white jade bead necklace. It is made up of 45 beads. The central pearl is the largest, having a diameter of 15mm, the other pearls are of decreasing diameter. The clasp is in gilt filigree silver and is hallmarked "silver" on the reverse.Probably Chinese work from the 20th century.The colour is a very pale green The color is a pretty very pale green (the photo is correct for the colour).

$550.00 Small Buddhist lion in almost solid cast bronze. The object is heavy. Beautiful active and fierce expression. Details meticulously chiselled with precision. It is probably work from Vietnam or South China. A very beautiful bronze patina announces a 19th century period or before. Underneath there is no fastening mark, so it was not the grip button of a lid. Not a weight either because part of the underside is hollow.
Hight: 6cm.
Fine condition.
