A rare and small antique Cinnabar Red Wood and Lacquer Offering Tray, 19th Century, Northern Thailand. Overall condition good. Size: 10 cm. height x 18 cm. top diameter.

A rare antique Cinnabar Red Lacquer Basket from Northern Thailand. 19th Century. A very labour intensive handmade procedure where woven and coiled bamboo and clay formed the base of this container. Furthermore, 6 ribs were bent and curved to form feet at the base. The top was curved and rolled inwards and many coats of lacquer were applied over and over after drying each one. Overall condition good, some wear, size: 17.5 cm. height x 38 cm. top diameter, 24 cm. bottom diameter.

Rare complete lacquer tobacco box with trays from the Karen hilltribe ethnic group Northern Thailand. Next to nothing has written about this craft amongst the Karen people although they are known for their water tight baskets using lacquer to seal the weave. H: 9.5cm/3.8in and D: 8.6cm/3.3in.

Rare wide brimmed Tibetan hat, meant to be worn by reincarnated lamas of a high-rank, called Tulku, who have the power to choose their manner of rebirth. It is covered in a copper/gold lacquer over incised designs with coiled dragons, flowers, and various Buddhist symbols. The inner part has pierced characters and a raised design, and is topped with a bronze and quartz finial with auspicious designs. Inside of hat has an illegible signature. 17th century Size: 14.75" wide, 6" tall

A Mandalay Buddhist votive domed covered alms bowl with glass inlays. Age: Early 20th century. Size: H. 48cm. W. 20cm. Condition: No repairs.

A late 19th - early 20th century "Yun" lacquered betel box with incised design of two horses and riders, elephant and dancers. The box is divided into three pieces. The bottom part for betel leaves and the top part for lime, areca nuts, clove and other ingredients. Size: H. 10.5cm. Diameter. 21cm. Condition: No repairs. Some age cracking.

A ceremonial cylinder used by Senior Monks to send letters to each other. The animal in the panel is a "balu-gwin" Size: H. 33.5 cm. Base diameter: 5.8cm. Condition: Normal wear, no repairs.

A very fine example of Burmese lacquer ware, dating from the Mandalay period, ca. late 19th/early 20th century. Apart from sone minor chips to the lacquer and normal age wear, this offering bowl is in excellent condition. H. 58 cm. Diameter 31 cm.

A very rare piece of lacquerware, comprising a big container with lid in the center and twelve narrow containers around it, each with a stopper in the shape of a nat (good spirit)and decorated with the Burmese zodiac. Made in the Pagan State, ca. late 19th to early 20th century. H. 31 cm , Diameter 28 cm. Condition: very good, with expected age wear.
