The wooden frames as well as the lacquered backs are late 20th century but we believe that parts were recovered from older broken furniture and were reused here, as can be seen with the small wooden panels decorated with bats and mother-of-pearl inlays that are 19th century or earlier...

Very fine polished shouldered stone axe from the late Neolithic Period, Nan Province Thailand, near the Lao Border. I acquired a collection a few of these in 2009 and this is the best of the lot. The stone is very hard and cannot be scratched on the polished surface with steel. .It is in very good condition with only a couple chips on the softer part of a still serviceable cutting edge. This feels good in the hand and is incredibly thin given the length of it (please see side angle)...

Unstrung lot of aventurine beads from the Lopburi Culture, Central Thailand circa 500 BCE-500 CE. A total of 50 beads (62 grams) - no two are identical, see enlargement for scale. This tyoe of stone is frequently mistaken for nephrite because of its deep green color and hardness.
