Standing on six feet, the vertical supports and handle are made of naturally formed bamboo rhizomes. The foot of the basket is hexagonal in form and gradually the body of the basket splays outward ending in a wider rounded rim.

Lift out door opens to a storage compartment with a removable split level shelf. Four drawers of varying sizes were used to house an assortment of tea ceremony paraphrenalia. All original including the bronze hardware.
