Standing on six feet, the vertical supports and handle are made of naturally formed bamboo rhizomes. The foot of the basket is hexagonal in form and gradually the body of the basket splays outward ending in a wider rounded rim.

A fine dark grey Saji river stone in the form of a mountain landscape placed on a perfectly fitted hardwood base. The natural bolder/stone has very interesting surface with grooves and ravines. Scholar’s rock (gongshi in Chinese) or Suiseki, viewing stone are highly appreciated for their aesthetic or decorative value in Japan but also by collectors in the western world. L 23 x H 13 cm.

An antique Japanese portable storage box for tea ceremony accoutrements. Made almost entirely of Kuwa (Mulberry) wood, it has a bamboo carrying handles. Lift out door opens to a storage compartment with a removable split level shelf. Four drawers of varying sizes were used to house an assortment of tea ceremony paraphrenalia. All original including the bronze hardware.

Antique Japanese tall rectangular form basket for ikebana flower arrangements. Made of split bamboo woven tightly in a vertical zigzag pattern. The corners have larger sections of bamboo that end in four feet. The bamboo has been left it's natural color and acquired an attractive patina over time.
