An unusal tri-legged bronze incense burner with finialed dome pierced top signed on the underside. It is 6 inches (14.5 cm) diameter, 7 inches (18 cm) tall and in fine condition, dating circa 1935. Hori Joshin was a student of Oshima Joun and was active from the early to mid 20th century.

A briliant late Taisho Period C. 1930 murashido bronze brazier/flower vase. Murashido is now a favorite among bronze collectors for its art deco appeal and sensual colors. Japanese bronze vase with a wide, flattened body shape, the tall cylindrical neck rendered with bamboo stalk texture. The handles of the vase are a pair of leaping rabbits over low relief waves. The foot of the vase is imprinted with the artist cartouche.

Japanese Meiji Era bronze incense burner with playful shishi dog scenes in high relief depicted on each side. Handles have a twisted rope design. On the lid sits a Buddhist lion or shishi dog. Remains of incense on inside lid. Featuring a beautiful chocolate red patina on outside, this koro is in excellent condition and measures 10.5 Inches high. Seal mark on bottom.

Signed on the reverse with a chiseled signature by the artist: Keiten (Takahashi Keiten, born 1920). Showa era, circa 1960 – 1970. Born in 1920 in Yamagata Prefecture, Takahashi Keiten first studied metal casting under Nagano Tetsushi in 1950. His work was first accepted into the government-sponsored 7th Nitten exhibition in 1951. In 1963, he won the encouragement prize at the Nihon Dento Kogei Ten (Japan Traditional Crafts Exhibition) and from 1972 served as a judge for the exhibition...

The reverse of the mirror decorated in high relief with a conventionalised representation of the utopian Isle of the Immortals typical of the Edo period integrating into the design the auspicious Takasago twin branched pine tree with a pair of flying cranes and a Minogame in the left hand corner. A bronze mirror, wakyo, decorated with a classic Autumn pattern that evolved in the Heian period which features a pair of birds, sparrows, water weeds, ashi, water, and a wave washed sandy beach, suhama. The design is cut by a single ring. The design of the inverted pistil boss and the density of the design, horror vacui, dates the mirror to the late Kamakura period 1275-1325. Finely cast bronze censer on three cloud-shaped feet with a décor on the body of an elephant on one side, a baku or tapir on the other on a background of very fine repetitive fretwork, patinated in a rich brown. A one of a kind huge bronze lotus temple basin with a dragon wrapped around the base and coming over the top as a water fountain. The base has bronze shishi in relief. C.1880. Stands over 6 feet tall and 5 feet wide. We had the fountain installed. Comes in two pieces; the base and the basin. Excellent condition with a minor dent in the tail of the dragon. Antique Japanese iron tetsubin, or tea kettle, with a bell shaped body that flutes out towards the rounded base, a tall spout, archaic designs along the rim with a lid bearing the artist's signature. The handle is "mokko" shaped referring to the Japanese Quince fruit.

Antique pair of Japanese shokudai (candle stands), made of bronze. Beautiful simple design with faceted stem and small chrysanthemum shaped detail where stick meets base. Each stand has a little hook and circular candle guard.
