$650.00 An antique Japanese transom (Ranma) made entirely of Hinoki (Cypress) wood. Black lacquered frame surrounds an intricate tesselated lattice design that further surrounds an even finer tessellated pattern in the center. It would make a beautiful headboard or an elaborate wall hanging.

SOLD Antique pair of Japanese fusuma doors. Hand painted interior doors with solid hinoki Japanese cypress wood paneling. Painted of white, green, red, and brown natural pigments. Frames are lacquered red. Original metal pulls. Depicting blossoming chrysanthemums along with a sleeping white cat.

On the flip side, three well carved heavenly flying apsaras are symbolized. Amounts the clouds, each angel is depicted holding there own instrument, sho flute, drum, biwa (four-stringed lute with a short neck) floating above blooming peonies...

SOLD An antique Japanese Ranma (transom) made of Akita Sugi (Cryptomeria from Akita prefecture) and Hinoki (Cypress). Natural Urushi black lacquer frame. Hand carved scene featuring a good luck turtle with longevity tail admiring an old Plum Blossom tree with scatterings of Bamboo underneath.
Age: Taisho Era (1912-1920) Dimensions: 73 1/4" Wide by 14 1/2" High.

SOLD An antique pair of Japanese Fusuma doors made of Hinoki (Cypress) and Sugi (Cryptomeria) woods. Natural Urushi lacquer frame and hand painted design of Bamboo trees on one side and Pine trees with Bamboo on the opposite side.
Bamboo symbolized tenacity and perseverance while the Pine tree represented a long life making these doors auspicious and full of good luck.
Age: Meiji Period (1880-1890) Dimensions: Each 35 1/2" Wide by 71 1/2" High.

SOLD Antique Japanese two panel screen inlaid on both sides with mother of pearl and bone. The front has two beautiful scenes of birds and butterflies perched on flowering wisteria branches. The lower register has a phoenix and a dragon. The back side has scenes of butterflies flittering about. The lower region has panels of crashing waves.Meiji period, 1868-1912.
It measures 37" tall 25.25" wide.
