Matching pair of Japanese Imari porcelain jars of inverted pear form covered with a high domed lid topped with a round chrysanthemum bud form finial. The vertically ribbed body is decorated in underglaze cobalt blue and overglaze rust-red enamel and gilt highlights. A large panel on the front features two shishi on opposing sides of a prominent floral pattern while the back holds a smaller cartouche with a bird and flower motif...

A beautiful robins’-egg-blue gu-shaped vase with ring handles and engraved decoration by Ito Tozan with the original rosewood stand dating from the early 20th century (c. 1920). The pale blue bleeds to white over the high points of the decoration, the florals raised about the bulbous center and highlighting the rim and edges of the beast head handles. Meanwhile pools of dark shadow the fretwork emanating up and down the body...

A lucky ammer in red decorates the inside of this large bowl by Mamiya Eishu enclosed in a period wooden box. It appears to read Kishoho or Kishohon (the method to satisfaction or the root of satisfaction respectively). The bowl is 7-1/2 inches (19 cm) diameter and in excellent condition. Striking large Japanese ceramic Tokoname jar, wonderful irregular shape, large kiln fragments, thick ash glaze with unusual subtle blue and yellow striations, Momoyama Period (1573-1615). (The Tokoname Kiln is considered one of the "6 Ancient Kilns" and was located at Tokoname on the Chita Peninsula, bordering Ise Bay.)

Japanese Satsuma cup and saucer finely decorated in overglaze enamels and heavy gilt highlights with alternating reserves featuring various activities of the noble classes and Buddhist arhats. The inner rim is decorated with a hanging lantern motif and the interior bottom with Buddhist arhats. The base of each piece bears a gold rectangular Satsuma mark and circular Satsuma family crest.
