No mark, Japanese Kyushu kilns work probably from Mikawachi (Hirado kilns, late 19th century.Meiji. Length.375mm. Good condition, some slight fired defects. An identical model but without the boatman (missing or broken?) is housed at the Los Angeles Museum (L.A.C.M.A).

1909's Japanese Nippon Porcelain Coralene Fully Beaded Bowl with Louts Flowers Marked

It is 4.72 inches (12 cm) tall by 7.28 inches (18.5 cm) wide. It weighs 1.7 lb.

It has a hairline crack at the lip and a small chip close to it. There are several small spots of missing coralene beads. It also has surface wears, rubbing of gold, and yellowing at the bowl's interior (as seen in the photos).

An ornate porcelain image of a horse draped in full regalia by Miyanaga Tozan I enclosed in the original signed wooden box. The detail about the head is fabulous, and the artist has done an excellent job capturing the musculature of the creature while allowing something ethereal. In Japan horses (and cows and foxes and deer and lots of other creatures) are often enshrined as messengers or embodiments of the gods in Shinto.
