EUR €1,950 An ivory okimono of the Tokyo school, depicting a woodcutter seated during a moment of rest, holding a bento box and chopsticks in his hands.
The figure is rendered with particular attention to the facial features, hairstyle, and the soft folds of the kimono, highlighting the quality of the carving.
On the reverse of the bundle of firewood appears a square signature in gold and silver.
Period: Meiji period, late 19th century
Dimensions: 7.5 cm

EUR €6,500 An antique ivory netsuke depicting a crouching deer.
The animal is shown in a natural pose, with a gentle expression, its head turned backward and eyes inlaid in horn. The surface is smooth to the touch, with a warm yellowish patina. Large himotoshi are pierced beneath the belly, next to the deer’s legs.
Period: Edo, second half of the 18th century
Dimensions: 2.6 × 5.2 × 2.7 cm
Condition: Excellent. Natural age lines in the ivory and light wear to the incised details.

Bamboo Grove
$2,400.00 It was carved by a late Meiji period (1868~1911) artist Tozan (東山). It depicts a smiling wood cutter taking a break and tying his straw sandal lace. A sparrow is resting on his straw hat. It is 6 1/5" high, 3 7/16" wide (from the bottom) and 3" thick (from the bottom). Aside from two hair line cracks; one on his back head and one on the bottom, it is in great condition.

SOLD Antique Japanese wood ranma (transom) with a black lacquer frame. The center panel is carved with a crane flying through pine trees. The crane, as well as the pine, are both symbols of a long and healthy life.
Dimensions: 73" L x 1" D x 14 3/4" Height Nicely aged patinated Japanese old ivory letter opener or possibly a page turner with carved and dyed lizard making its way up the handle.
The piece is 9.5 inches long and .5 inches wide. It is slightly doomed across the width and the "blade" section is sharpened on one side...
Really a lovely piece.
