Antique Chinese Qing Dynasty 19th century Han Chinese woman's robe, blue silk damask with embroidered collar and trims; 5 toggle-loop buttons. The robe is in great condition, no fray or wear. Measurements : Top collar to bottom hem 36", Sleeve to sleeve 65" when fully stretched, sleeve width 20", width between arm pits 25" narrowest, width of hem 36" widest.
Up for sale is an antique Chinese monochrome silk rank badge, woven with an egret, together with bats, Buddhist & Taoist auspicious objects, seawaves, sun disc, and cloud patterns; it meant to be wore on the back of a Mandarin official's surcoat; intricate weaving! Brocaded border was added later.

The robe is in very good condition, lots of bright embroideries. Very minor loss to embroideries, minor wear to the trims on the bottom, lightly soiled on blue lining around the neck area...

Fine old Yao embroidery with Chinese characters, from the Kin Mun Lantien subgroup Yunnan/Vietnam. This piece is in excellent condition with no damage, but the indigo has “bled” and is circa early 20th century. It is made from all handspun cotton with an intense indigo dye. These are documented in the Jess Pourret book “The Yao”. Embroidered patch W: 14cm/5.5in and L: 20cm/7.9- with fringe 139cm/54in. Free shipping.
This late Qing Dynasty hat is in excellent condition. Made with silk fabric with silk thread satin stitch embroidery on both front and back, it has long tassels on each side.

Sold A male front Mandarin square with a tiger, denoting the 3rd military rank. Silk tapestry (kossu, k'o-suu) with metallic threads and painted details. The animal is standing on a rock above deep water, the ground with Taoist longevity symbols. Blue silk lining. The background was probably covered by peacock feathers, rarely survived to the present days. Reference: "Ladder to the Clouds" by Jackson & Hugus Berkeley 1999, for similar badges...

Eight gilt dragon and phoenix bird roundels are on the front, back, and shoulders. The bottom of the robe is gilt decorated in the traditional pattern of waves, stylized mountains, and diagonal bands of upright water (li shui) permeated with auspicious symbols.
