The dramatically flared rim and other raised decorations indicate that this vessel was likely created for ritual use rather than as a food or cooking container. Antique Chinese Chizhou stoneware kendi (handleless pouring vessel with spout). Also called Tz'u-chou, this high-fire stoneware is decorated with rich brown-black glaze. It has a raised design of a band of flowers around it's middle and a scalloped pattern around it's mouth. The elegant form has a tapered spout with a slight bend.

An antique Japanese Kimono Tansu made of Kirinoki (Paulownia) and Suginoki (Cryptomeria) woods. Four large drawers and two small drawers comprise this chest for versatile organizing and storage. Original patina and hand forged iron hardware with straight dovetail Japanese joinery with hardened wooden nail construction. This chest would function well as a daily clothes dresser, a linen storage chest or an accept piece that would fit any room decor.

An antique Japanese 3 section Isho Tansu (clothing chest) made entirely of Kirinoki (Paulownia) wood. All original metal hardware with mitered and straight dovetail Japanese joinery reinforced by hardened wooden nails. Upper section has two sliding doors behind which are two small drawers and a split level shelf. The center section has four large drawers and the bottom section has three large drawers. The base riser adds 3 inches of height to the overall chest.

Magnificent Nezumi-Shino Chawan with a true wabi sabi aesthetic form and a thick feldsparic glaze on a classic background of Nezumi-Shino — an art form dating back to the Momoyama period of Japan that was revived in the mid-1900s by legendary potter Arakawa Toyozo and others.

Tibetan yak butter tea “po cha” or barley beer “chang” bowl carved from burlwood, possibly Rhododendron circa 50 to 100 years old. D:11.8cm/4.6in and H: 5cm/1.9in, there is one worn chip on the edge. A charming old piece- difficult to find these days. This was not turned on a lathe, but entirely carved by hand.

An amusing and very rare lantern in cast bronze, decorated in light relief with stylized cicada in the archaic style. The rear part cut out by crosses the front part open for the use of candles or oil lamp. The cast iron is of good quality and the finish is neat. This antique pair of earrings are from the Miao Chinese Ethnic minority. For me the shape and thick "wires" add to the design of the earring...some groups of the Miao purposely expanded the size of the ear lobe holes to accomadate...
