A male peacock struts proudly before a gorgeous plume of color on this mid 20th century hand painted screen signed and stamped Yushin. Description: A traditional Chinese religious sculpture was in a image of Louhan and was preserved with original paints and gold leaf. Date: 14th-15th Century. Material: Wood. Height: 44cm Width: 26cm Depth: 19cm Condition: Overall in good condition except some wear at the lower part of the torso. Stand, part of left palm and religious weapon holding in the right hand were lost .

This quilt is made out of an old Japanese nobori banner probably from the Meiji period (1868-1912). The upper part of the banner, where the family crest (Mon) is dyed, was used for the border and two figures were sewn together side by side. The brown fabrics on each side of the design are the reverse side of an old obi sash. All hand-sewn except for the straight line where the panels were put together.
