A Chinese porcelain vase covered with beautiful flambe glaze, and decorated with a pair of molded mask and ring handles on the shoulder. 18th century. Condition: The foot rim is lightly ground; chips around inside the foot rim which happened before firing. No other flaw other than these. Height: 13-3/4".

A lacquer box decorated with a Rimpa style thatched house under blossoming tree by Kamisaka Sekka dating from the late Taisho period. It is 12.5 x 12.5 x 6 cm (5 x 5 x 2 inches) and is in excellent condition. An identical box which was part of the permanent collection of the Ruth and Sherman Lee Institute along with the original design sketch is visible on page 154 of the book Kamisaka Sekka: Rimpa Master - Pioneer of Modern Design published by the Kyoto National Museum of Modern Art in 2003. ...

Splendid and absolutely rare double vase of old Karatsu-yaki. It has a vivid Chosen-Karatsu glaze, and the grandiose embellishment of color creates a sublime sense of tension between the dark glazed and color infusion.

This very decorative vase was made around the mid 19th century (late Edo Period).

Very good antique condition with only a light crack of glaze on the back of the white top, which enforces the all over wabi-sabi look.

This is a children's kimono used in Kyoto during the Edo period. This is depicted in Tsutsugaki. This is exactly the bold expression only Tsutsugaki has. It is the carps, waves and rocks, movements are boldly expressed in Tsutsugaki. It is a three-dimensional expression. It has a sharp color. This is expressed in high quality natural indigo and is impressive. It has four pinholes and a few slight stains, but it does not stand out. Size length 92 cm 36.2 inch width 88 cm 34.6 inch

A very rare Solid gold rare ear pick very finely made with an ornate chain made during the Pyu Dynasty that is now Burma. This is a very unusual gold item from that era.

A small Korean personal chest with dramatic Elm hardwood front panels. The top set of doors opens to an inner compartment with carved hardwood border, and six small drawers. The middle doors and lower drop-down lid open to a large compartment lined in Korean paper. The upper and lower set of doors are book-matched so the natural woodgrain appears to mirror itself. The piece is fully detailed with brass hardware and plates.
