A very rare and early example with its original polychrome and clear traces of long time use. Note the glossy patina on the back of the mask. Sold to China Vajradhara or Dorje Chang in Tibetan is the ultimate primordial Buddha or Adi Buddha according to the Gelug and Kagyu schools of Tibetan Buddhism. This fine example is from Tibet or possibly from Nepal. It is well proportioned and has very nice facial features. Please note the fine engraving on the back of the figure. It is in a very good condition with normal age wear, a nice patina and remains of polychrome. H. 23 cm. From a Dutch private collection.

$225 A very unusual modern Japanese pottery vase. Exaggerated chatter decoration spiraling from the foot to the shoulder, the tacky clay lifted to a very coarse texture before firing. The neck to rim, also spiraling up the vase, finished smoothly. Apparently in the tradition of the stoneware tile work kilns of Bizen and Tokoname. Studio artist marks in impressed cartouches on the foot. Excellent condition. Height, 8 inches.

One with wheat and sword flanked by attendants, one also with wheat and sword and the other with a palm frond or banana leaf fan. Sold, Thank you! A beautifully preserved 16th to 17th century Annan Bronze basin inscribed with the animals of the zodiac which had been used as a prayer bell at a Japanese Buddhist temple.
