A 19th century (Edo to Meiji periods) gilded bronze branch bearing three golden fruits, each of which opens to reveal a small compartment. It is 19 cm (7-1/2 inches) long, 6 cm (2-1/2 inches) tall and comes enclosed in an age darkened kiri-wood box. Certainly of Buddhist connotations, it likely held some small sweets or incense.

A very rare large antique TIBETAN SWORD with silver, iron and shagreen skin on the sheath. Intricately and beautifully decorated with a Taotie Mask, Deer, Tigers, a Phoenix and a Dragon on one side, while the other has detailed scrolling, foliage and a copper buckle for attaching. Size: L. 19.5", blade alone 14" (L. 49.5 cm., blade alone 36 cm.). RARE Collector's item!

Hand formed copper vase with waves in annealed silver signed on the side and enclosed in the original signed wooden box dating from the 1950s. It is 20 x 15 x 21 cm (8 x 6 x 8 inches) and in excellent condition.

A very bold and distinctive plate by well-known Bizen potter Kaneshige Makoto (Maruyama Kiln). Japanese cigarette case, damascened with silver and gold on steel, c 1930's. Decoration in Komai style of a temple gate, pagodas and Mt Fuji. The back with a Fukui mark under butterfly and 24K. In addition two marks resembling stylized birds’ wings on a sgraffito ground. Width "3 ¾ / 9,2 cm, height "3 ¼ / 8,2 cm. Condition: some wear to the black surface, otherwise fine (cf pics).

Antique Japanese 2-section todana tansu, comprised all of Keyaki (elm) wood, with stunning, bold natural burl front panels with original, warm finish. Simplistic design with minimalistic hardware. Its two lowest sets of sliding door panels hold spacious shelved storage room within, while the top holds an open space. A small lift-away panel with an eggplant shaped handle adds a subtle touch of charm.

An enchanting tea bowl with painted plum blossoms. The blossoms appears to be of the "un-ryu" species which translates as "flying dragon" in English. Grounded and weighty in construction, the innocent and playful drawings on the outer surface of this tea bowl make for a well-balanced composition.
