A Chinese jade carving shaped as a lotus pod and incised and carved with prunus flowers, the endless knot and a bird in flight. The stone is of celadon hue mottled with russet. This is an elegant and superbly carved composition depicting auspicious objects . Age: 17/18 C. condition: excellent, no breaks no restoration. Japanese antique tall ikebana basket, made of split bamboo. This basket has an elongated square body separated into two different treatments. The upper portion of the basket is woven in a diagonal criss cross pattern while the bottom is woven with straight vertical pieces. The handle is made of twisted wisteria branch sections. The front of the basket is also decorated with a branch of gnarled wisteria.

Antique Japanese ikebana (flower arranging) basket, very finely hand-woven with thin strips of bamboo. Its form is narrow towards the mouth of the basket and flutes slightly towards the squared base, with four knot-woven feet, and the frame of the basket is reinforced with thicker bamboo sections, secured with tight coils. The handle is formed by natural Wisteria burl root. With hand inscribed signature on the base.

Delicate fish scale patterns in gold on bronze lacquer highlight old chips on the rim of this large Yamachawan Tea bowl dating from the Kamakura to early Muromachi periods (12th -15th centuries). A very large pair of hardwood transom / temple architectural elements, elaborately carved with charming motifs of squirrels eating from grape vines. The carvings are deeply recessed with raised outside edges of a scrolling form. Realistic grape vines and leaves continue along the underside of each transom. Very heavy.
