$250.00 This is a japanese antique 1920-1940 cotton Buddhist Shugensha hanten coat worn by Shugen practitioners who practiced Shugendo.
Shugendo is a unique Japanese religion that combines Buddhism, Shinto and the worship of nature (mountains).
It has some light stains , but is in very good condition.
Size::Length :80 cm (31.4 inch) / Sleeve to sleeve :130cm (51.1 inch) / Back width :65cm (25.5inch)

This fine pottery model of a camel, laden with saddle bags, was made during the early Tang Dynasty (AD 618 - 906) or possibly a little earlier. It is made from a buff-coloured pottery that has been "cold painted" in a white pigment. The camel stands upright and alert with its mouth open and its head turned to its left. On its back is a set of saddle bags that include a blanket, ducks and what appears to be a rabbit. Thi... Rare, unusual in this form, Himalayan shamanic mask, with eyes and mouth wide open, expressive features. This mask is strangely similar in aspect to antique Greek theater masks, though there is no known connection between both areas.
