Antique Chinese table screen made of serpentine from the Nangyang region. In two separate pieces: the picture slab of prized serpentine is framed in Huanghuali which sits into a carved frame. Valued for it's undulating natural snake-like layers, this serpentine screen once sat on a scholar's table. There, it could be admired and pondered for it's beauty.

Antique Chinese small carving of a maiden and her attendant, the maiden is holding a flower basket in one hand and between the two they hold a blossoming peony branch, delicately carved of morganite with a lovely faint pink hue, they stand on a small rectangular base of iris agate, 19th century. Size: 2 3/4" high

Amazing antique Chinese porcelain dish. Beautifully formed, glazed with a rich monochrome turquoise color. Standing on four small unglazed feet. Intricately decorated with tiny drum-like rivets around the outer edge and on the inside with raised stylized 5-bat motif around a central prosperity symbol. The underside has an incised 6 character Qianlong zhuanzhu mark (1735-1796) or later.

Antique Chinese monochrome porcelain vase with dripping Flambé (Jingdezhen Jun) glaze. Antique Chinese porcelain water coupe in the form of a pine branch. Whimsically sculpted with a gibbon hanging from it's handle. Glazed a lovely mauve color on the outside and a white glaze inside. Underside has Wang Bing Rong mark in a raised cartouche. Wang Bing Rong (1840-1900) specialized in carved decoration on porcelain and was active during the Tongzhi to Gunagxu Period.

Antique Chinese low rectangular table inset with picture marble, made of hardwood, ornately carved all over with scrolling flowers and vines, two longest sides have two drawers each, 19th century. Size: 12" high x 34 1/2" wide x 22 1/4" deep.

Antique silver and enamel finger nail guard, worn by wealthy ladies to protect their long finger nails and show that they did not need to work with their hands, made all of pierced repouse silver and enamel and decorated with flowers and a raised frog, edge has light blue enamel over a running key fret motif, 19th century. Antique Chinese ruyi scepter carved of boxwood in a naturalistic representation of a lingzhi mushroom. Long and elegantly curved with smaller lingzhi sprouting from it's stem. Beautifully carved with great attention to detail and form. Ruyi scepters were used in Chinese Buddhist ceremonies and as symbols of good fortune, luxury and power.

Beautifully hand carved antique Chinese lime stone seated buddha. The buddhas is dressed in long flowing robes draping the lower body in soft pleats. The face carved with fine contemplative expression giving feeling of a calm tranquility. Condition is consistent with age. Piece is very stable seated on flat surface.
