The landscape is dramatic and tranquil beginning in the mountains, descending through the ravines with a waterfall ending in a lake, where a monk crosses a bridge. It measures 25" wide 113" long overall, the image 18" by 69".

Size: 13.75" height x 9" diameter.
Height approximately 32 cm (included the wooden lid). There are a few chips on the rim where the wooden lid supports and a few chips on the base. No hairlines, no cracks, no repairs. In good condition.

Age; 1836. condition : very good, a small section of the raised coloured ring at the base is missing. The blue glass cover is lacking its spoon.

A ring is provided for a suspension cord. The part opposite this ring is a hollow cylinder. It is possible that there was another mobile part now lost? However I do not see any wear that a moving part would have necessarily left traces and the jewel is well balanced so. There is a 925 hallmark which must be the silver ...

solded This form of jug called a monk's cap is of Tibetan origin. The model was adopted in China from the beginning of the 15th century and very appreciated. Monks' cap jugs were made of porcelain. They are always of good quality. The example presented here is made of thick bronze (yellow copper alloy). I don't think it's cast but rather hammered bronze.The border of the top in strong relief would indicate a cast bronze. But it is not certain. The body seems casted and the handle and the foot seem hamm...
