This is a very rare and highly desirable Changsha kiln 9th century Tang Dynasty bird water dropper. Usually these are characterized by such components such as under-glazed yelow-brownish and green motifs with molded design in relief, appliqué designs or impressed designs in relief and also incised or carved designs. A Yaozhou incense burner or XinLu was intriguingly squeezed with five feet.
In saucer form, the body was decorated with carved motifs on the surface of the rim.
It was preserved in very good condition by nice glaze when sandy-tinted incursion were happened in portions.
One broken foot was caused during burial.

Description:
A Yaozhou water dropper was presented in perfect condition.
The glaze condition was very good except some incursions had been happened to the rim of the venting hole and the beak-like mouth.
Amusingly found at the bottom, there were three padding clays were still adhered without being removed.
It was really rare to find an ancient porcelain ware which was solely for scholar use.
A similar piece but from Longquan site was documented.

This jade carving depicts two dragons, seated back to back and is, as best I can tell, the real deal. Not only are there no signs whatsoever of modern tooling, but each of the holes at the snout has been drilled from both sides, using a conical bit.
