These are hair styling combs used when most women had the hairdo of today’s geisha. Each comb had a different function which was basically to comb, style and clean the hair. The combs here are all hand cut and it appears that some were added later. All combs are cleaned.

A children's kimono made in the Edo period to celebrate the men's festival of wealthy merchant families.
A herd of horses with various patterns is strongly expressed in ink with Tsutsugaki for children's wear,
Movement is brisk.There is a light stain, but it is not noticeable. No damage, very good condition.

sold thank you This is the Noren used at the ship merchant's house on the Japan Sea side of the Edo Period. It has Mount Fuji, a merchant ship and a family crest. The merchant ship is stylized. This is dyed with indigo.
This is Tsutsugaki cotton. There are two small holes, but they are not outstanding. There is a place where a thread came off a little. The back is fading.
