This attractive pear-shaped vase was made during the Southern Song Dynasty (AD 1127 - 1279), most likely at one of the kilns in Fujian province. Interestingly it is made in several sections that have been luted together. The mid section is decorated with a scrolling floral pattern, below which is moulded leaf decoration. A tall elongated squared baluster form vase with vertical flanges to the corners and lion mask handles to the neck. Decorated with Taotie panels to the body and smaller lingzhi panels to the neck possibly cast and chiselled and parcel gilding.
See Bonhams lot 8214 San Francisco 19th December 2016 for similar form vases there attributed to the Ming dynasty. Probably late Ming or early Qing.

$2,500.00 Chinese square stand, simple elegant lines, made of huanghuali wood with beautiful grain, Republic Period.
Size: 18" high x 17" wide x 17" deep.
Chinese bronze tripod ding censor with two upright arched loop handles at the rim. A geometric band encircles the rounded body. A comparison with porcelain forms suggests a dating of S. Song to Yuan dynasty for this vessel. 5 1/8"H x 3 3/4" diameter. There are original casting flaws on the legs and a slight dent in the body (see enlargement 6). This piece is from a Tucson, Arizona estate.

Rubbings of ancient stone carvings are illegal in China as the process damages the stone. In very good condition, the rubbing measures 39.5 inches x 21 inches. Scroll measures 30" x 56" and comes in a bamboo container.
