Sold Description:
A spotted deer with high horns was an ancient ceramic toy. Nicely squeezed and mold in shape and obtained the artistic interest. Some similar pieces were found in Chinese documentation. Date: Song Dynasty, 11th/12th century. Height: 8.5cm. Condition: Broken in neck and re-glued. Some abrasions and debris in the glaze.

A Longquan bowl was mold in decent Bo(elm bowl) shape. It was applied on the surface with celadon bean-green glaze and was uniquely carved with willow leaves (Liutiao) patterns for decoration. The darken firing tint was yielded at the bottom from where the body clay was revealed. Foggy-look condition was observed in the glaze. A Lusan stem cup was in lovely size. It was well preserved by reflecting the retrospective sheen of old condition. Blue and white splashes were suffused against the dark brownish glaze background on the surface. Loosening-feel body clay was revealed at the lower portion in beige tint. Date: Tang Dynasty, 9th/10th century. Body width: 6cm, Height: 5.5cm. Very nice lobed porcelain Qingbai plate with carved peony decoration. China, Song Dynasty (960-1279). Diameter 16 cm. Condition: glaze is locally crackled due to age, there is age wear to the glaze. No damage or repairs.

An archaic bronze seal was from Buddhist ritual. It was cast on the printing side with four ancient Zhuan characters: Fo Fa Seng Bao (Buddha, Buddha dharma, Buddha Followers, Buddha's Holy Treasures). There's a long slender knob on top of the seal. A water dropper was in intriguing twin toad's shape. In characteristic mustard tint, the vessel was merged by two halves made from clay molds. Finger prints were left on the clay body by the potter when in the squeezing and applying method of the pieces. There were obvious incursions happened to the thinner portion of the glaze. Chinese bronze tripod ding censor with two upright arched loop handles at the rim. A geometric band encircles the rounded body. A comparison with porcelain forms suggests a dating of S. Song to Yuan dynasty for this vessel. 5 1/8"H x 3 3/4" diameter. There are original casting flaws on the legs and a slight dent in the body (see enlargement 6). This piece is from a Tucson, Arizona estate.
