A twin-handled bronze censer. The base carries the six character reign mark of the Xuande emperor (1426-1435) but this item was made later, possibly during the reign of the Kangxi emperor (1662-1722). This censer is from the collection of a British architect who was born in China and lived in Shanghai. It came to the UK with him in 1931. Ayutthaya period Bronze Buddha, Siam, mounted, most likely survived the destruction of this ancient Thai capital by the Burmese in 1767, with some parts of the bronze statue partially melted (see photographs). A very finely carved oval-shaped white jade falconer's plaque depicting a five-clawed dragon amongst scrolling foliage. This item was probably made in China in the 18th Century during the reign of the Qianlong Emperor (1736-1795). Condition - very good - there are two chips to the reverse side (please see enlargement 2), no further damages or losses. 9.5cm (3.75ins) long; 5.3cm (2.1ins) wide.

Circa 1750. A very beautiful and petite vegetable tureen. This is just gorgeous, with bright colors and well painted florals, all of which is beautifully intact. The only damage is the one handle has been re-stuck.
