This is a kagura costume made in the Tohoku region during the Meiji period. Kagura is a dance dedicated to the gods. Several types of pigments are used to paint this item. They are gold, green, bengara-red, yellow, white, brown and black. After first being dyed in beautiful indigo by Tsutsugaki, the painting is then painted freehand using pigments. It is 25.2 inches (64 cm) in circumference by 11.5 inches (29 cm) in length. The pendant is 2.4 inches (6 cm) long by 1.9 inches (4.89 cm) wide by 0.26 inch (0.67 cm) thick. The jade ring is 15.7 mm- 17.9mm diameter. The bead is 11.5 mm- 12.5 mm. It is 116.7 gram.

A small Japanese Arita kilns blue and white porcelain sauce dish, or mamezara, of mokko-gata form. Namban (or Nanban, Southern barbarian) decoration of a foreign figure, with dog, falconing in picturesque landscape. Painterly shironuki decoration in the cavetto of cranes flying among clouds. Edo period, Circa 1800. Good condition for its age, with two small chips inside the foot rim and a small glaze abrasion just above the foot rim. About 3 15/16 inches (10 cm) square.

Chinese yellow crackle-glazed pear-form porcelain vase with an everted rim and an underglaze blue double-ring at the base. Dates from the 18th century. 9 1/4"H. There are small scattered green glaze spots and interesting irregularities of the glaze application at the neck. Fine quality restorations have been made to the neck which are not visible to the eye. The vase was acquired from a Southern Arizona estate.
