Rare Japanese gyosho kannon bako. Constructed of Kiri wood with original red lacquer finish. The piece is fitted with hand-forged iron plates and mounts. The front of the chest holds 3 small drawers in its lower section, with a pair of large doors above. The interior of the chest has a large open compartment with a long drawer long the top. The sides are fitted with iron rings and handles with a long cord so the piece may be carried on a merchant's back.

A quite large Chinese silk purse with outstanding embroidery. One side showing a deer looking at a crane on a pine, on the left four Chinese characters. The other side with a flock of swallows near a flowering tree. Edged with a black and white woven band and a silvery rim, the silk tassels having gold and silver wrapped threads. Silk lining. Condition: faded, small stains, little wear to rim. Dimension: purse: c. 17 cm x 15.5 cm, tassels: c. 18.5 cm long.

Finely cast five-point vajra (or dorje), made of bronze, with nice dark green patina. Tibet, early 19th century. Length: 12.4 cm. Very good condition.

A six sided Japanese porcelain Imari dish with a blue and green dragon design on the front, and a blue and white bat design on the back. The plate measures about 10 1/2" in diameter x 2" high, and dates to the early 19th Century. There is a makers' mark on the foot. Chinese Export Blue and White covered deep serving Tureen or Dish, Ca. 1800-1820, 5 1/2" high, 9 1/4" x 8 1/4" wide, with cut corner shape and Pine Cone Knob on top, very nice soft underglaze blue with sampan floating in the lake, pavilion and pagoda under willow tree next to bridge. This is a Kyoto School Netsuke of a Dog. Seated, facing backwards, as if responding to a call. Its thin tail raising over its back forming a look. Finely detailed hair work. Its large eyes inlaid in dark horn. Measures 1.50 inches (3.8cm) long, and one-inch (2.5cm) high.

A Chinese mother of pearl box of canted rectangular shape and mounted with silver edgings. The cover is delicately and minutely engraved with a scene of figures at leisure in a pavilion surrounding a vacant shield. The sides bear panels of very finely worked flowers with geometric borders.
