Superb Meiji Period c. 1900 zen buddhist temple ramma featuring chrysanthemum and leaves carved in fabulous relief. Carved out of cypress wood with gold gilt lacquer, the piece is large at 49" wide and 12" tall. Great condition. Ask for shipping quote.

A large Persian textile "Suzani" which literally means "needlework". The cotton cloth is hand-embroidered with complex floral medallions and scrolling work with brightly colored silk thread. These traditional Suzani would be used for headscarves, ottoman covers, prayer mats, wall hangings, and many other uses.

A rare antique Japanese kuruma tansu (wheeled chest) originally used for storage. Made out of keyaki (elm) wood with hand forged iron hardware in very good original condition. Large sliding panels open to reveal an open shelf on the right side with a hidden storage area under the shelf. The left hand side has an open shelf with 4 drawers tucked underneath. Antique Japanese kura tansu (warehouse storage chest). Made of keyaki (elm) wood with iron hardware. The top portion has a large compartment covered by sliding panels with vertical slats. The bottom portion has another compartment covered by sliding panels with horizontal and vertical slats. Heavy wooden braces for strength on sides and back of chest.

A beautiful Nashiji (sprinkled gold flakes) ground lacquer Natsume, Tea caddy. This is a traditional Qing Dynasty woman's skirt. Chines skirts during this time period were made in 2 sections which were "buttoned" together with "frogs" The skirt was then wrapped around the hips so that the flat sections were displayed at at the front and back....the pleated sections were at draped the sides... A Very Fine Pair of Korean Leather/Silk/Girl’s Shoes-19th C: For girls. Korea, Joseon dynasty, 19th century. A pair of shoes with a leather and red and light yellow colored silk for a royal family’s child, the soles actually are pig skin, sewing done unbelievably very well at the time. For a child (girl) shoes they’re very rare with a good condition like these shoes in these days. It’s in very fine condition, measures 5 3/8” long.

Rare antique Korean small personal stacking chest (ich'ung nong) in two sections plus a stand. Made with multiple woods and brass hardware including butterfly shaped locks and hinges. Old paper on the inside.

Antique Japanese single section mizuya (kichten chest). Made of hinoki (Japanese cypress) wood with dark keyaki (elm) wood burl panels. The left side of the tansu has a compartment opened by sliding doors with vertical slats. The right portion of the chest has a smaller compartment opened by sliders with decorative cut outs and wire mesh. Below these compartments are 8 drawers of various sizes all with keyaki wood fronts and round iron drawer pulls.
