Sold Pair of Exquisite Chinese soapstone carvings of fu dogs, one male and one female with her baby. The pedestals on which the fu dogs stand show motif panels of horses in various form and pose.
Provenance: From a private estate, originally purchased at Morcom's House of Beautiful Things - Oakland, which closed in the 1920s. Dates from the 18th/19th century Dimensions: 3" x 2" x 6 3/4" H

$1,250.00 Japanese iron tea kettle, or tetsubin, all hand-cast iron with landscape scenes of oceanside cottages around the body. The handle is inlaid with two silver birds and held into place by a pair of iron chimera on each end. The bronze lid is signed underneath, and the backside of the iron body has a 4 character artist's cartouche.
Dimensions: 7" x 6" x 8" H (with handle up) Pair of Chinese early Republic period baluster form porcelain vases covered overall in a flambé transmutation style glaze (referred to as "san yang kai tai") of oxblood red and green that darkens to nearly black. The glaze drips down into the flared mouth and stops short of the unglazed base. 8 3/4" to just under 9” high each. Early 20th century. Very good overall condition. Included is the original receipt, erroneously describing the vases as Ming, from Bizarre Bazaar Ltd., Central Park...
Lovely Qing Dynasty amber colored agate ovoid form snuff bottle, with an oval foot rim surrounding a shallowly recessed flat base, with mask handles on each side. $9,500.00 Japanese large, rectangular suiban, finely cast with stylized motifs of waves and flying birds in relief. Suiban are shallow trays meant to be filled with suiseki or viewing stones, sand, and bonsai. The rim of the suiban are flared with a cast apron of reishi mushrooms. The 4 feet of the dish are in the form of rolling waves. The underside is textured with artist signature and cartouche.

$2,000.00 Antique Japanese small porcelain Kakiemon ware dish. With enamel scene of a tiger chasing a flying bird, bamboo and scholar's rocks, accented in gilt. Slightly flared rim with the recessed foot left unglazed around the edges.
19th Century Dimensions: 5 3/4" x 5 3/4" x 3/4" H Chinese Qing dynasty natural root form scholar’s bitong, or brushpot. 7 1/2” high. The base measures about 6” diameter at the longest part. The rim is about 4 5/8” across at the widest part. Late 19th to early 20th century. Very good overall condition. There is a short crack at the inner rim that extends to the interior of one thin concave area on the exterior. This piece is from the private collection of former American expatriates to Hong Kong in the 1970s and 1980s.
