Made of lacquered wood and decorated all over with scenes of flying geese in gold lacquer with raised details on a black lacquer ground, Silver lacquer bull rushes with golden leaves bend in the wind. A gorgeous pair of tiny shoes with shaped heels and upturned toes for a Han Chinese lady with bound feet. Two nicely matched Edo period mixed metal menuki. Each with decoration of a duck in water. Some difference in the detailing of the water and perhaps different duck species (though one could explain the lack of a crest and color on one because it was the female of a pair of mandarin wood ducks.) For the price, they would work quite well together on a tsuka (sword hilt.) Longer one, about 1 1/2 inches. Good condition.

Finely crafted Mughal rock crystal-hilted Khangar dagger. The grip finely carved, with rolled pommel and gold-inlaid steel bolster. The single-edged blade forged of actively-patterned wootz damascus steel. In its velvet-covered wooden scabbard. 19th century. Overall length approx 11 inches (27 cm).

Ch¨­sen Karatsu (³¯õrÌƽò) Chawan with a fantastic vivid glaze. It dates from the late Edo Period, no cracks, no repairs.

This traditional style was introduced by one or more potters brought from the Joseon Dynasty during the Japanese invasions of Korea. It features a black glaze placed under a white glaze which has been fired with straw. The two glazes run together and give a feeling of opposites.

A fine Chinese late 19th century ivory card case featuring an intricately carved garden setting with figures and pavilions on a pierced background. Tombo Eboshi-Nari Okegawa Do Gushoku, a rare and wonderful Japanese antique suit of armor: Eboshi helmet (represents one who has attained manhood distinguished by an Original dragonfly (tombo meadate) carved of wood and lacquered gold. Antique Japanese pair of wonderful Koma Inu shrine guardian fu-dogs, carved from keyaki (elm) wood. Traces of painted details in green, white and brown.
