Antique Chinese finely hand-carved with superb details rosewood sculpture depicting the Laughing Buddha -Budai (also known as Hotei or Pu-Tai), late 19th century (Qing Dynasty).

Hotei sits on the back of a recumbent Buddhist lion, Shishi or Foo Dog, wearing loosely draped robes open at his chest to reveal his corpulent figure, and holds a bag in his hands that represents wealth and good fortune, while three laughing boys are climbing on him.

Antique Chinese bronze cylindrical container on three feet. Decorated with two groups of male figures which appear to be fighting. The scenes are set under pine trees bows with puffs of swirling clouds and rocks. The rim of the container is decorated with a key fret motif. The bottom is carved with an archaic three-character mark. Very heavy bronze with beautiful patination.

Japanese Yama Chawan (literally 'Mountain Tea Bowl'), biscuit firing ware with impressive natural glaze and slightly distorted form. It dates back to the Kamakura Period (1185 - 1333). Highlight is the inside design with a Japanese Koi image which was added by a former owner as a kind of Kintsugi to close a damage on the inside surface. Such typ of Kintsugi is definitely rare.

You can also find traces of the famous kai-yu glaze on this excavated piece.

Large Chinese Qing dynasty porcelain bowl decorated on the exterior wall with stylized forms thinly washed in deep blue-gray over a celadon-gray crackled ground. The interior is unglazed at the center where another bowl was stacked in the kiln. This bowl was probably produced by a Fujian kiln for export to Southeast Asia. 9 3/8” diameter x 3 3/8” high. 19th century. A deeply carved Chinese cinnabar seal paste box measuring about 2.75 inches diameter and 1" high. It is a superb example of early bright red cinnabar lacquer. Being 225 years old, it has been very well kept. Dates circa 1780.
